    Georgetown Sidewalk Extension Recommendation

    At a public meeting on October 13, 2021, MAAC recommended to DC Councilmember Mary Cheh and DDOT Director Everett Lott that the District prohibit scooters and bikes from riding on the sidewalks in Georgetown’s commercial business district.

    moveDC

    moveDC is the District’s long-range transportation plan. Under the Mayor’s direction, it sets the goals, policies, strategies, and metrics DDOT uses to address transportation needs across all eight wards. MAAC encouraged residents to weigh in during the 2021 public comment period.

    Vision Zero

    Through DC’s Vision Zero initiative, the District set a goal of reaching zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries — pursued through data, education, enforcement, and engineering. MAAC tracks the District’s progress against that promise.
